Question: What sort of stuff does the council do for young people at the moment?

Hi Andys. Easy answer is all sorts of stuff but is what you want ? If you go to the District Council website [www.fdean.gov.uk] and look for “Leisure Services” you will find the page that gives you info about Leisure Centres and the services they offer. The list covers things like Swimming, Trampolene activities, Athletics, Football coaching and the Fun Zone [for 5 to 13’s]. These and other activities are available from the Leisure centres in the four main towns. Thats the end of the 30sec advert.
What do you think of stuff offered to young people by the Council ? What would you like to see in your town or village? What can you do in support of your request ?

Apart from organised leisure activities around the four market towns we have the finest facility of all – especially for those of you living in the south of the district – the unique Forest Woodlands. Reputed to be the largest of the Oak Forests – where sheep and wild boar graze beneath the woodland canopy which allows the tranquil flora to flourish.

The Council has a great youth worker Kate Wyatt who actively supports ands encourages youth activities.She and others help to bring in funding to the Forest to enable things to happen. We link into and help fund the Youth forum and other groups like CANDI in Cinderford. We could do more but the money is very tight.
